Sangeeta Mahajan, Managing Director/ Founder

Sangeeta Mahajan, the Managing Director of International Education and Training Consultants has been working within the education and training industry in Australia and overseas for approximately 28 years.

Sangeeta commenced her professional career overseas as a university lecturer and has worked in teaching positions at the University of Queensland and Griffith University in Australia. From 1998 to 2004, Sangeeta worked for Education Queensland International, leading and managing the key international student programs’ portfolio for Queensland government schools.  During this time, she also project managed the setting up of the first two NEAS and CRICOS accredited ELICOS centres for Queensland government and provided multiple workshops on international education to over 30 government schools in Queensland.  Sangeeta represented Education Queensland on the Schools’ International Government Group (SIGG) in 2003-2004.

In 2004 Sangeeta was appointed as the CEO of Nudgee International College (ELICOS College)/ Nudgee Training Institute (RTO), one of Australia’s leading international education providers specialising in school-sector programs.  Since 2004, within five years, Nudgee International College achieved over 60% growth in enrolments resulting in a significant turnaround for the college.  In the same period the College also won multiple Queensland government awards for internationalisation, student services and pastoral care.   At Nudgee International College, Sangeeta expanded its unique packaged model of ELICOS high school programs that the College marketed internationally on behalf of its wide network of 22 partner schools in Australia.   At NTI, Sangeeta was instrumental in developing, monitoring, validating and reviewing its key training programs, in consultation with industry trainers and stakeholders. Under her management, NTI registered a range of nationally recognised courses and successfully achieved CRICOS and RTO re-registration following onsite audits

In 2009, Sangeeta set up her own independent CRICOS registered training organisation specialising in delivering courses in business and management to domestic and international students.  Under Sangeeta’s leadership, the college was very successful and  established a strong reputation in Brisbane amongst domestic and international students.  Till 2018, when Sangeeta ceased to be shareholder of the company, the RTO was also a registered delegate of ASQA, demonstrating its strong record of compliance and quality.

In 2011, Sangeeta also set up Australian International Education Consortium (AIECG), an organization designed to provide a unique blend of marketing and enrolment consulting services to international education providers in Australia. AIECG is currently assisting over 18 education providers in Queensland and Victoria

As an independent consultant, under her company, IETC, Sangeeta now provides consulting services and support to ELICOS colleges, schools and vocational colleges. Her services including helping with initial registration for RTOs, CRICOS and ELICOS.

Sangeeta was an invited member of the Queensland Government QETI Schools Working Party from 2004 to 2010 and the QETI ELICOS Working Party from 2008-2010.  In 2010, she was appointed to the Queensland Education and Training Advisory Committee through Queensland Cabinet endorsement.  In 2011, the Queensland Minister for Trade invited her on the advisory panel set up to form the Queensland International Education Industry Council.  Sangeeta has delivered presentations on international education and training at the NEAS, AEI and other conferences and forums.
